Property Records Exemption Research Specialist

Description:

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in the use of a PC and Microsoft Office Software.
  • The ability to concentrate on assigned tasks and to manage time effectively.
  • The ability to ask questions that will bring forth the information needed to assist the customer efficiently.
  • The ability to communicate clearly on the telephone and face to face. Additionally strong written communication skills are necessary.
  • Applicant must be able to pass a standardized skill test administered by the District.
  • The ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds of files or equipment.
  • Office experience with knowledge of office and copying equipment, postage meters, and other office equipment is beneficial.
  • Experience with U.S. Mail, UPS, Express Mail Carriers and procedures is beneficial.
  • If assigned to deliver and retrieve mail to and from the Post Office, must possess a valid Texas Driver's License and comply with the DCAD automobile insurance requirementsas outlined in Policy 124.2. Vehicle Allowance is provided.
  • RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Interpret official documents regarding ownership.
  • Process all types of exemption applications.
  • Work customer service on the phone and in person.
  • Review reports for quality control and audits.
  • Prepare journal entries to correct accounts on previously certified rolls.
  • Work with Appraisal Groups.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • PREFERRED:
  • Bilingual in Spanish - (read and speak).
  • Office experience with knowledge of office equipment, postage meters, and other office equipment.
  • Previous customer service, appraisal or tax office experience.

  • Assists with mail, opening, sort, and scanning.

  • Previous customer service, appraisal office, or other office experience.

Residential Real Estate Appraiser

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance or related field.
  • Ability to take courses to pass state certification tests

  • RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conducting property inspections and gathering data on residential properties.
  • Analyzing data to determine the value of residential properties.
  • Preparing and submitting appraisal reports.
  • Responding to inquiries and appeals from property owners.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry regulations and standards.
  • PREFERRED:
  • Knowledge of general appraisal methods and processes.
  • PHYSICAL and MENTAL ABILITIES:
  • Incumbent must have sufficient mobility to visit property and/or construction sites that may feature rough terrain and difficult access, as well as be able to work outdoors in unfavorable weather conditions including extreme heat and cold as well as wet and rainy environments.
  • Employee must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time with ability to reach, bend and move up/down on steps. Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds of equipment.
  • The position requires considerable concentration, creativity and ability to manage time effectively in order to meet production and quality objectives.
  • Requires the ability to operate office equipment including computers (keyboard and touch) and calculators.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate on the telephone and face to face, including the ability to ask questions that will bring forth the information needed to make sound decisions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management or other related degree and at least one years of Human Resources experience.
  • Must be familiar with employment laws, state and federal.
  • Strong PC skill required.
  • PHR certification required within one year of assuming position.
